Acyclovir (Zovirax) is an antiviral used to treat infections caused by herpes viruses including genital herpes, cold sores, shingles, and chicken pox. Acyclovir slows the growth and spread of the herpes virus so that the body can fight off the infection. Acyclovir lessens the symptoms of these infections and shortens the length of time you are sick. Treatment with Acyclovir should be started as soon as possible after the first appearance of symptoms (e.g. tingling, burning, blisters).

Aldara (Imiquimod) is an immune response modifier (IRM) used in adults with normal immune systems to treat certain types of precancerous skin lesions of the face or scalp known as actinic keratosis (AK) or to treat superficial basal cell carcinoma (sBCC) of the body, neck, arms, or legs. Aldara may also be used to treat external genital and perianal warts in patients 12 years of age and older. Aldara helps fight the virus that causes genital warts by stimulating your body's own immune system.

Condylox (Podofilox) is a cytotoxic agent used to treat genital warts on the outside (external) skin of the penis and vagina. Condylox Gel is also used to treat genital warts on the skin between the rectum and the genitals. Neither the gel nor the solution is used to treat warts that occur inside the rectum, vagina, or urine passageways inside the penis or the vulva. Condylox works by destroying the skin of the wart.

Denavir (Penciclovir cream) is a topical antiviral medication used to treat cold sores or fever blisters in adults and children 12 years and older. Denavir cream is applied externally on the lips and face. Denavir works by interfering with the growth of the herpesvirus responsible for the sores. Denavir is not indicated for internal use on mucous membranes inside the mouth, nose, genital or rectal areas.

Valtrex may also be used for cold sores (herpes simplex) or other conditions as determined by your doctor.
